Another fun time with a twist. Jason and Jamie envisioned and put into play an exercise to cement the most important lesson that we NOT obsess over equipment. Just say not to GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome)!

Unleashing my inner child with the crayon brought some closure to my difficult childhood!

Last Flowers

The last few days were rough. Early this morning I decided to make a trip downtown while no one was out and lucked upon these flowers blooming. Nothing special, just blooming flowers.

They are pretty though.

Lafayette Oilman's Sporting Clay Tournament

We had an early start this morning, arriving for the safety briefing at 7am and heading out on to the course at about 8:30. I shot very poorly but had a wonderful time. The food was fantastic and the comraderie was better. It is too seldom we are able to get out for some real fun. Here are a few photos of my group, none of me, but somebody has to shoot these functions. Honestly, I was shooting so poorly with the shotgun that I figured the camera deserved my full attention.

M6 and TMAX 3200

Just for the record, I don't get out much. Having five kids really can put a damper on your night life, but every once in a while we do make it out. Last Friday was one of those nights, and I just had to carry Jason's M6 with me to expose a roll of 3200. There are a few keepers, but the biggest takeaway from the night is that it has been a long time since I have tried to shoot in darkness.

Saturday morning I did not feel very well. This did not stop my wife leaving me with the two youngest kids while she went off galavanting. In reality it turned out for the best because we were able to experiment a bit with my neglected large strobes. This turned into a tiny 5 minute session with my eldest son heading off to the Homecoming Dance.
